The pear tree challenge has swept the Internet as celebrities and athletes try to avoid boredom by showing how they can put on a T-shirt while holding the pear tree against a wall. Spider Man Star Tom Holland kicked off, then challenged MCU friends Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal to try it out for themselves.
Next, Gyllenhaal’s sister Maggie made her own pretty flawless version, followed by athlete and bobsledder Lolo Jones, who rose to the challenge by not donning one, but of them T-shirts, and take a sip of celebration wine while maintaining your position with one hand.
And now world gymnastics champion and Olympic gold medalist, Simone Biles has taken up the pear tree challenge to a whole new level of exhibitionism. In a video she posted on Twitter, Biles removed her sweatpants with her own feet while in a free ATR that she held for a full minute, without support from a Wall.
Looks like Biles just took Jones’ handstand, at least until another professional athlete got bored enough to try his own creative approach to the viral challenge.
This is the second time this week that Biles has demonstrated his prowess in reverse support on his social networks; On Thursday, she shared a video on Instagram in which she rose above a pair of parallel bars, before standing up in a handstand, then back down while sitting – a feat of strength and essential stability. “Stay at home and stay focused!” She wrote in the legend.
Biles is one of the many Olympians who have found themselves with a lot of free time now that the Tokyo Summer Games have been postponed until next year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Like Biles, many other Olympic athletes have kept themselves busy finding new and innovative ways to train in 2021 during the lockout.
